NJ Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS)
Facial feminization surgery, is the term given to a group of surgical procedures designed to transform a masculine face into not only a feminine face, but also an attractive one. NJ Facial feminization surgery is also known as FFS. While occasionally desired by women to reduce masculine facial characteristics, these procedures are often sought by those undergoing transition from male to female.
Why is Facial Feminization Surgery important?
New Jersey Facial feminization surgery is important because the face and forehead/brow commonly provides the first visual clues and impression people have regarding the sex of an individual. Facial feminization surgery involves bony and soft tissue surgery of the forehead, the eyes and orbital rims, the face, neck, and thyroid cartilage.
Transsexuals ready to go through the entire transformation process from man to woman may, in addition to hormone therapy, undergo sex reassignment surgery (SRS).
SRS can include many procedures and ancillary care such as:
Breast Augmentation
Brow and Orbital Recontouring
The pronounced bony orbital rims characteristic of a male are shaved and contoured by Dr. Rosenberg and his team using a high speed drill and special burr. This is typically performed through an incision along the top of the scalp where subsequent healing conceals the scar. This approach permits access to the entire forehead and the orbits. Additional soft tissue surgery in this area is performed where necessary and can further soften the contour of the forehead, giving a more feminine appearance to this portion of the face.
Rhinoplasty
In the majority of patient seeking Fort Lee Rhinoplasty, Dr. Rosenberg believes that cosmetic surgery designed to reshape the nose should improve the patient's appearance while maintaining certain characteristics of the patient's ethnicity and gender . In the transsexual patient, this does not apply. The true art of Rhinoplasty can best be seen where a beautiful and natural appearing feminine nose is created on a patient who is genetically a male.
Mandible Reduction
Autologous Fat Transfer
Body Contouring
Laser Hair Removal
Laser reduction of Pore size
Dr. Rosenberg has had a great deal of success using the Erbium laser to smooth the skin and reduce the pore size in males as they transition to becoming females. When combined with the hormone-induced changes, multiple Erbium laser treatments refine the skin and add a youthful glow as well.
Tracheal Shave
This procedure reduces the appearance of the Adam's Apple which is prominently visible in a male neck but not desirable in the softer sloping curve of a woman's neck.
Psychological Counseling and Certification
Endocrine/Hormone Therapy
