Liposuction
Conveniently located to serve the areas of New Jersey and the Tri-state Area
Given the frustrations of stubborn fat deposits unresponsive to diet or exercise, and even persistent when at your ideal weight it is no wonder that liposuction remains the most popular of all cosmetic procedures for both men and women.
This targeted procedure to improve the body contours made irregular by excess fat accumulation is a safe and effective technique that combines artistry and science to mold your body.
Liposuction is a body contouring technique, not a method of surgical weight reduction. And while large-volume Liposuction usually renders a noticeable and often dramatic improvement of the body contours, there is relatively little change in a patients’ actual weight post-operatively, since fat is less dense than a comparable volume of water. We advise patients that a medically-supervised weight reduction program is most beneficial in cases of diffuse excess fatty deposits, in order to arrive at or near their ideal goal weight before Liposuction is done.
The best results with liposuction are obtained in younger patients in whom the skin elasticity remains resilient, so that the skin will smoothly re-contour following the procedure. In some older patients, or in those with more long-standing localized fatty excess which has stretched the skin for a longer time period, the skin may be inelastic, and a skin tightening procedure may be required. Newer technologies and techniques are now available for such patients, and our surgeons are best able to discuss the relative benefits and risks of each as they pertain to your anatomy in an in-person consultation.
Liposuction has the benefit of a speedy recovery period marked by tiny incisions and a return to work or normal social activities in a few days with usage of compression garments to treated areas to diminish the amount of swelling.

Power assisted liposuction
- The preferred procedure for fat removal of our surgeons being a precise, less traumatic fat removal process aided by a rapid-reciprocating handpiece that simultaneously separates fat during the suction process.
Vaser liposuction
- Cutting edge technology using higher frequency ultrasonic energy to emulsify fat and allow for even more precise fat removal in thinner areas. Our surgeson see less swelling and bruising with its use and our patients see a faster recovery.
Awake liposuction
- As the name implies this procedure unlike traditional liposuction is performed without general anesthesia, where the instilled solution is modified for adequate local anesthesia so that the patient may remain awake for the procedure. A patient’s candidacy is best assessed in person as there are limitations to the amount of fat that can be removed in one setting that should be reconciled with a patient’s goals.

Liposuction / HD liposuction FAQ
“Shape your dreams, redefine your curves!”
How is HD liposuction different from traditional liposuction?
HD liposuction differs from traditional liposuction in the level of precision and attention to detail. HD liposuction involves more extensive sculpting and contouring to accentuate underlying musculature and create a more defined appearance, particularly in areas such as the abdomen, flanks, and arms.
Which areas of the body can be treated with liposuction or HD liposuction?
Liposuction and HD liposuction can be performed on various areas of the body, including the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms, back, chest, and neck. The specific areas to be treated can be discussed with your surgeon during the consultation.
Will liposuction or HD liposuction help me lose weight?
Liposuction and HD liposuction are not weight loss procedures. They are intended to remove localized areas of excess fat and improve body contour. While you may see a decrease in clothing sizes and a more sculpted appearance, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle to achieve and maintain optimal results.
What is the difference between liposuction and HD liposuction?
1) Here are the key distinctions: Technique and Precision: HD liposuction, also known as high-definition liposuction, involves a more precise and meticulous technique compared to traditional liposuction. It focuses on enhancing muscle definition and sculpting the underlying musculature for a more athletic and toned appearance.
2) Muscle Contouring: HD liposuction aims to create more visible muscle definition by selectively removing fat around the muscles, such as the abdominal muscles (six-pack) or the pectoral muscles (chest). The goal is to achieve a more chiseled and defined look.
3) Body Contouring: While traditional liposuction is primarily focused on removing excess fat from specific areas, HD liposuction takes body contouring to a higher level by emphasizing muscle sculpting and enhancing the natural shape and definition of the body.
4) Skill and Expertise: HD liposuction requires specialized training and expertise to perform the intricate techniques involved in sculpting and contouring the body. It often requires a surgeon with a keen eye for aesthetics and an understanding of anatomical proportions.
5) Patient Selection: HD liposuction is typically recommended for individuals who are already relatively fit and have good muscle tone but desire more enhanced muscle definition. Traditional liposuction, on the other hand, can be suitable for a broader range of patients looking to remove excess fat from various areas of the body.
Tummy tuck FAQ
What is a tummy tuck?
A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen while tightening the abdominal muscles. It is performed to create a firmer, flatter, and more contoured abdominal appearance.
Who is a good candidate for a tummy tuck?
Good candidates for a tummy tuck are individuals who have excess abdominal skin and fat, weakened or separated abdominal muscles (commonly after pregnancy or significant weight loss), and are in overall good health. It is important to have realistic expectations and a commitment to maintaining a healthy lifestyle after the procedure.
Will a tummy tuck help me lose weight?
A tummy tuck is not a weight-loss procedure. While some weight may be removed with the excess skin and fat, the primary goal of a tummy tuck is to contour and tighten the abdominal area. It is important to achieve a stable weight before undergoing the procedure for optimal results.
Will a tummy tuck remove stretch marks?
A tummy tuck can remove some stretch marks located on the lower abdomen that are within the area of skin being excised. However, it cannot eliminate stretch marks on other areas of the abdomen or prevent the development of new stretch marks in the future.
Can I get pregnant after a tummy tuck?
It is generally recommended to complete your family planning before undergoing a tummy tuck. While a tummy tuck does not affect the ability to conceive or carry a pregnancy, the results of the procedure may be compromised if pregnancy occurs afterward.
What is a mini tummy tuck?
A mini tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that focuses on the lower abdomen below the belly button. It is a less extensive version of a full tummy tuck and is ideal for patients with minimal excess skin or muscle laxity in the lower abdomen.
How is a mini tummy tuck different from a full tummy tuck?
The main difference between a mini tummy tuck and a full tummy tuck is the extent of the procedure. A mini tummy tuck focuses on the lower abdomen, while a full tummy tuck addresses both the upper and lower abdomen, including muscle repair and repositioning of the belly button.
What is the recovery process like after a mini tummy tuck?
The recovery period after a mini tummy tuck is generally shorter compared to a full tummy tuck. Patients may experience some swelling, bruising, and discomfort, which can be managed with prescribed medications. Most individuals can resume light activities within a week or two.
Will there be visible scarring after a mini tummy tuck?
Incisions for a mini tummy tuck are typically smaller and placed low on the abdomen, making them less noticeable. Over time, the scars tend to fade and become less prominent. Proper scar care can help optimize healing.
